Sunrise Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for a part-time Woodwork Instructor to teach the upper grades beginning in the 2025–2026 school year.
Founded in 1980, Sunrise is nestled on a beautiful seven-acre campus in the Cowichan Valley near Duncan, BC. Our mission is to educate and inspire students to reach their full potential through a rich and artistic Waldorf curriculum. We are seeking a caring and dynamic instructor with a passion for woodworking, Waldorf Education, and a commitment to fostering creativity, skill, and confidence in students. The ideal candidate will bring warmth, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit to our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, teaching, and reporting. Instructors commit to understanding and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and reconciliation.
Responsibilities:

Woodwork curriculum delivery

Communication and collaboration with parents

Participation in school festivals, events, and performances

Engagement in professional development and Waldorf pedagogy

Supervision during recess or transitions
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Relevant training and experience in teaching woodwork, ideally in a Waldorf school setting

Familiarity with, or strong interest in, Waldorf education and its pedagogical approach

Effective classroom and behaviour management practices

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to support students of varying ages and learning styles
