Woodwork Assistant

Sunrise Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for a casual Woodwork assistant.
Established in 1980, the beautiful seven-acre Sunrise campus is in the Cowichan Valley, near Duncan BC. Sunrise is a full AWSNA member school and a Group One independent school under the BC Ministry of Education with a mission to educate and inspire students to reach their full potential through a rich and artistic Waldorf curriculum.
Sunrise is looking for an individual who has experience with and loves working with children and has some skills in using knives, carving tools and other woodwork tools. As a Woodwork Assistant, the successful candidate will help the Woodwork Instructor and the students create beautiful and meaningful projects that reflect the Waldorf philosophy of connecting with nature and developing the whole child. The Assistant will also help ensure the safety and well-being of the children as they explore the wonders of wood.
The successful candidate will have a flexible schedule and be a positive, collaborative individual who enjoys working with children and has interest in working in a Waldorf School. Sunrise is looking for someone with strong relational, communication and interpersonal skills.
