Sunrise Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for a 5 day/week, part time Preschool Assistant.

 

Established in 1980, the beautiful seven-acre Sunrise campus is in the Cowichan Valley, near Duncan BC.  Sunrise is a full AWSNA member school and a Group One independent school under the BC Ministry of Education and Child Care with a mission to educate and inspire students to reach their full potential through a rich and artistic Waldorf curriculum.    

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with young children, have an ECEA certificate or be eligible to receive one.  Sunrise is seeking a kind and energetic individual with strong communication and caregiving skills. The successful candidate must have the ability to support students with a range of abilities, including doing some lifting for a child with mobility challenges. It is important that the candidate can maintain composure under pressure. Ideally, the candidate will have some knowledge of and experience with Waldorf education and be able to bring activities rooted in storytelling, movement, arts and/or music to the children.  Training in education or childcare would be an asset, and completion of First Aid.

Working schedule: Monday to Friday, when school is in session, from 3 to 5 hours per day, during school hours. There may be an opportunity for additional hours.

 

Pay: $22.50 to $24.00/hour
