Sunrise Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for a Class One Teacher starting the 2024 2025 school year.  Established in 1980, the beautiful seven-acre Sunrise campus is in the Cowichan Valley, near Duncan BC.  Sunrise is a full AWSNA member school and a Group One independent school under the BC Ministry of Education with a mission to educate and inspire students to reach their full potential through a rich and artistic Waldorf curriculum.    

 

The ideal candidate will have a B.Ed, BC Teaching Certificate, Waldorf teacher training and have teaching experience in a Waldorf school. Sunrise seeks a caring and dynamic educator with positive classroom and behaviour management practices and strong interpersonal and communication skills.  The successful candidate must have the ability to support students with a range of abilities. In addition to teaching the BC Ministry of Education and the Waldorf curriculum, other duties include:

 

• Lesson planning and classroom preparation

• staff meetings and committee work

• parent meetings and communication

• assessment of student progress, oral and written report writing

• lunch and recess supervision

• regular professional development

• participation in festivals, recitals, and field trips

Salary Range: $45,760 to $72,800
